An exquisite evening of Christmas music from the golden era of the Baroque including festive music for solo soprano sung by Mhairi Lawson, whose beautiful voice is perfectly suited to the demands of the intricate and flamboyant vocal writing in arias by Bach, Handel and Vivaldi. Virtuosic performers from the Bristol Ensemble will take centre stage in instrumental concertos, and the programme includes the ever-popular Christmas Concerto by Corelli as well as Bach’s exquisitely beautiful Air on the G String.
