Add to my Calendar 04-07-2018 13:00 04-07-2018 15:00 36 An American in Paris on Independence Day This exciting and popular programme of American music celebrates Leonard Bernstein in his centenary year and features music of stage and screen including 'Mack the Knife', the haunting pieces from 'Schindler's List' film and the London premiere of "Madeleine Mitchell's highly effective arrangement of Gershwin" (The Times). Madeleine, who was Fulbright/ITT Fellow to New York, is joined by American saxophonist Kyle Horch, who plays the Sondheim arrangement by long-term New Yorker Sir Richard Rodney Bennett, and Nigel Clayton who also teams up with David Wordsworth, curator of the series, for a piano duo to complete this concert.
