Programme Note
Trinity Singers of Churchill are proud to present Cantate Domino, a varied programme of English and Italian Baroque music, at St Mary’s Church, Yatton, on Saturday 12th November. For this exciting concert the choir is joined by Bristol Brass Consort and Claire Alsop, organist at St Mary Redcliffe, Bristol.
Music in the concert reflects the rich span of Baroque style, from the divided choirs of Gabrieli’s O magnum mysterium and In ecclesiis, through the sumptuous dark harmonies of Purcell’s Funeral Sentences and the Crucifixus of Lotti, to the exuberant vigour of Handel’s With cheerful notes and ever-popular Zadok the Priest.
Join Trinity Singers and friends for some gorgeous music, and experience just how far music journeyed in this seminal period.
