Add to my Calendar 05-02-2016 19:30 05-02-2016 21:30 36 Chaluvier Duo: clarinet and piano A recital celebrating original clarinet and piano repertoire.  From two sonatas that are the highlight of 1900s clarinet and piano literature to a glimpse into some works typical of the character of Italian opera.  A selection of solo piano works separates the two parts of the recital.Formed in 2007, the Chaluvier Duo has performed in a large number of concerts in southern Italy.  Over the last few years Michele and Antonella have participated in many national and international competitions winning  in 2014 the chamber music category in “Symphonia competition - Scorrano (Lecce)” and  placing first in a series of other competitions including “Premio musica Italia - Barletta”, “Città delle ceramiche - Grottaglie”, and “Giovani promesse” Taranto).  In 2015 they have realised their first album dedicated to original clarinet and piano sonatas written during the 20th century, which there are going to present in an international tour.Michele and Antonella are the artistic directors of the cultural and musical association “Armonia delle Sfere” and, since 2011, they direct their music school in Avetrana (South Italy) where they operate as educators too.  In 2013 they founded a young orchestra, constituted by all pupils of the music school.  With this orchestra Michele and Antonella realise various solidarity projects, performing in rest homes and centres for disability.  During the academic year they often organise concerts for their pupils, giving them the opportunity to perform to a larger public.Michele Colluto and Antonella Margiotta have studied with illustrious musicians and are both graduates in musical disciplines.For ten years Michele Colluto has been first clarinettist in many wind orchestras, performing in concert seasons typical of south Italy tradition.  Recently he has been selected for the symphonic orchestra of Titanic live concert project, written by R & RJ Gibb.  Since last September he has been first clarinettist of “Young Talents Orchestra” of Massafra.  Since 2012 he teaches clarinet in primary schools, participating in Abreu projects, which are part of El Sistema, an education program that promotes classical music education for impoverished children.Antonella Margiotta earned her Piano Master degree with full marks and honours.  She performs as soloist and pianist accompanist too.  As soloist, she has been a prize-winner in a series of national and international piano competitions.  She took part in Vienna Master Courses 2010, led by the Institute for the study of Viennese Classicism.  As an accompanist Antonella regularly performs in chamber ensembles arrangements with percussion, wind and strings.  In October 2013 she participated  in duo with percussions to Rai Uno Italian tv program “First applause”, a chamber music TV contest, winning the competition.Ticketholders are invited to enjoy the Club's lounge and bar an hour before the performance, during the interval and to join the performers there after the recital. 1901 Arts Club, London DD/MM/YYYY
