Programme Note
Rose Opera presents the first concert in its new series Rose Opera in Recital. A varied, elegant, one-hour programme is beautifully presented by Rose Opera Artist Tamara Ravenhill and pianist Andrew Robinson.
Tamara studied music from an early age and majored in violin in her native Ukraine. She started her vocal studies with Lyudmila Tretiak in Kyiv and then learned with Dodi Protero in New York and later with Enid Hartle and Robert Presley in London. She currently studies with Paula Anglin.
Tamara’s opera roles include Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Mimi (La Boheme), Countess (The Marriage of Figaro), Alice Ford (Falstaff), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte), Elettra (Idomeneo), Vitellia (La Clemenza di Tito), and Iolanta (Iolanta, Tchaikovsky). Tamara sang the title role of Suor Angelica in the Zezere Arts Festival, Portugal. Her oratorio and concert highlights include Verdi’s Requiem and orchestral version of Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder. Future engagements include Senta (Der Fliegende Hollaender) and Amelia (Simon Boccanegra) with Rose Opera and opening recital for Beckenham Music Festival in 2022.
