Programme will include Mendelssohn's Concert Pieces for two clarinets and piano. Principal Clarinet of The Cleveland Orchestra since 1976,Franklin Cohen has distinguished himself as one of the outstanding clarinettists of his generation.  Since his first solo appearance with The Cleveland Orchestra in 1977, he has been featured as soloist in nearly 200 performances - at Severance Hall, Carnegie Hall, Blossom Music Center, and on tour throughout the United States, Asia and Europe.  In 1992, Franklin recorded the Mozart Clarinet Concerto with the Orchestra and Christoph von Dohnányi for Decca Records.  He is also the soloist in Debussy's First Rhapsody on a Deutsche Grammophon recording conducted by Pierre Boulez that won two Grammy Awards in 1996, and on a Decca recording of the Brahms Clarinet Sonatas with pianist Vladimir Ashkenazy.    With his daughter, violinist Diana Cohen, Franklin is the co-artistic director of the critically acclaimed ChamberFest Cleveland, the first international summer chamber music festival in Cleveland, which presented its inaugural season in 2012.  ChamberFest’s huge success has led to an expanded vision for growth locally and internationally.   Franklin has given countless masterclasses and seminars at prestigious universities and conservatories throughout the world.  His former students hold principal positions in major orchestras in North America, Europe, Mexico and Asia. Franklin Cohen’s dreamy, liquid-toned performance of Debussy’s First Rhapsody for clarinet and orchestra was extraordinary.” - The New York Times   Dina Duisen was born into a family of musicians in Almaty, Kazakhstan.  At the age of five, Dina started studying piano at the Special School for Gifted Children together with her two brothers Ordabek and Ilyas, who are both violinists.  By the age of thirteen she had made her debut with the Symphony Orchestra.  After graduating from school, Dina continued her studies at the Kazakh National Academy of Music, graduating with distinction in 2005, before being awarded a full scholarship on the Artist Diploma programme at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, from which she graduated in 2008.  At the same time, Dina was invited to work as a teacher of music at the Texas Wesleyan University.  In September 2008, Dina started studying for the new Master of Arts Degree in Performance at the Royal Academy of Music, under the tutelage of Christopher Elton, Hamish Milne and Kathryn Stott, and graduated with distinction in 2011.  A major prize winner at many piano competitions, including the 29th International Piano Competition in Senigallia, Italy, the Shabyt International Competition, the National Competition of Kazakhstan and the International Musician of the 21st Century Competition, Dina has also participated in a number of international music festivals in Europe, the USA and in Asia.  More recently she has taken part in the IMS Prussia Cove Masterclasses and Open Chamber Music, Rome Music Festival and the Oxford International Piano Festival.  In 2007 and 2011, Dina was one of eight pianists selected to participate in Sergei Babayan's International Piano Academy at the Cleveland Institute of Music in Ohio, USA.  In 2016, Dina was invited to work as a class pianist alongside Gerhard Schulz during the IMS Prussia Cove masterclasses.  Dina released her solo debut album Mazurkas from Chopin to Adès  which was recorded at Kings Place with the Grammy-award winning producer Andrew Keener in 2015.  "Duisen makes this sound easy; it almost sounds like she doesn't know how impressive a feat this is" - MusicWeb International    Christopher Richards studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Thea King, Julian Farrell and Joy Farrall.  Whilst at the Guildhall, he won the Needlemakers' Wind Prize and reached the finals of the 2001 Shell/LSO Competition where he performed Weber's first Clarinet Concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra.  After his studies, he was appointed principal clarinet with the Northern Sinfonia at the Sage Gateshead and in 2010 became principal clarinet with the London Symphony Orchestra.  He has also performed as a guest principal with most of the UK's leading orchestras.  Chris has appeared as a soloist with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Northern Sinfonia, London Symphony Orchestra Chamber Ensemble, English Symphony Orchestra and Birmingham Contemporary Music Group with conductors including Thomas Zehetmair, Robin Ticciati, H. K. Gruber and Nicholas McGegan.  He has also broadcast John Adams’s Gnarly Buttons, Birtwistle's Linoi and the Strauss Duett-Concertino on BBC Radio 3.   In 2008 Chris gave the premiere of Richard Rodney Bennett'sTroubadour Music for clarinet and piano at the Wigmore Hall.  A regular performer of chamber music, Chris has played at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, LSO St Luke's, The Sage Gateshead and Aldeburgh Festival with artists such as the Aronowitz Ensemble, London Symphony Orchestra Chamber Ensemble, Ensemble 360, Thomas Adès, Pascal Rogé and Howard Shelley.  He is also a regular member of the John Wilson Orchestra. 1901 Arts Club, London DD/MM/YYYY
