Programme Note
With Ophélie Gaillard, embark for 17th-18th century Naples, where the sensuality of a vocalità inspired by the greatest castrati competes with a whirlwind of fiery dances!
To celebrate the release of our new double album Napoli! this autumn, this programme offers an exploration of Neapolitan flavours, in the company of Ortiz, Falconieri, the brilliant cellist Alborea, also known as Francischello, as well as Scarlatti, Matteis and Vivaldi.
The Franco-Swiss cellist Ophélie Gaillard, whose "wizard fingering, big lyrical heart and kaleidoscope of colours" were saluted by The Times, will be accompanied by the theorbo player Eligio Quinteiro.
