Programme Note

Welcome to the first in a new season of chamber concerts at 1901 Arts Club, performed by musicians from London and beyond and hosted by bassoonist Miles Chapman

This performance kicks off the series with chamber music and solo pieces from the 20th and 21st centuries.  The evening commences with the music of Madeleine Dring before being blown away by two short pieces for alto saxophone.  In the middle we will enjoy a trio by little-known composer Edouard Destenay.  In the final part of the evening, we welcome violist Adam Maha who will introduce us to the works of two composers from New Zealand.  We end the evening with a quintet by composer and Cambridge University lecturer Tim Watts which was commissioned for our flautist Stephen O'Hanlon.

The Waterloo-based music salon comes with cosy seating and an amply stocked bar to quench your thirst during the several breaks and intermissions.

So come along, grab a drink, kick back your heels and melt into some beautiful music.
