Programme Note
Experience an exceptional evening of chamber music with violinist/violist David Núñez and pianist Clara Rodriguez.
This specially curated programme brings together celebrated landmarks of the repertoire alongside the UK première of Modesta Bor’s Sonata for Viola and Piano, presented in celebration of the composer’s centenary.
The programme explores music shaped by folk traditions, jazz, and Latin American influences: from the vibrant energy of Béla Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances to the iconic Maurice Ravel Sonata for Violin and Piano, infused with blues-inspired idiom, and George Gershwin’s Three Preludes with their unmistakable jazz influence.
The programme also celebrates Latin American voices through El Catire by Aldemaro Romero, rooted in the spirit of onda nueva, and the beloved bolero Cuando vuelva a tu lado by Mexican María Grever—known in English as What a Diff'rence a Day Makes.
Expect emotional depth, vivid contrasts, and a distinctive blend of lyricism and brilliance.
