Castalian String Quartet
Programme Note
Named the inaugural Hans Keller String Quartet in Residence at the University of Oxford and 2019 Royal Philharmonic Society Young Artists of the Year, the Castalian String Quartet’s recent and forthcoming highlights include debut invitations to Carnegie Hall, and the Library of Congress in Washington DC.
Hailed for their ‘powerful individuality of sound’ and ‘instinctive singularity of musical intention’ (The Scotsman) whose performances are ‘full of poetry, joy and sorrow’ and ‘realised to such perfection’ (The Observer), the Castalian String Quartet are quickly emerging as one of the most exciting and in-demand quartets on the world stage.
