The 1812 Overture (number 13 in the Classic FM Hall of Fame 2016) will provide a rousing climax to the programme ,which also features Romeo & Juliet and Rococo Variations. Our ‘cello soloist in the Rococo Variations is Daniel Harrison, whose recent performances in Lille have earned him the accolade of “emotional perfection”. The programme in full: Romeo & Juliet – Tchaikovsky Rococo Variations – Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture – Tchaikovsky After the concert a delicious Russian-themed supper will be served (full package tickets only). Chicken & mushroom stronganoff, followed by sharlotka (Russian apple cake), and a glass of wine/juice. (Vegetarian alternative: mushroom stroganoff; gluten free option available on request).
