Focusing on the work of well-known English poets, including John Donne and Alfred, Lord Tennyson, the concert features a mix of sacred and secular music, and explores the techniques used to reflect words through music. Accompanied by Neil Taylor, Director of the St George’s Singers and formerly Organist of Sheffield Cathedral, the concert includes a wide variety of styles, and will begin and end with contrasting settings of George Herbert's Let all the world, one of the most famous hymns in the English language, by Britten and Vaughan Williams. The Chester Bach Singers kick off their 40th Anniversary Season with a celebration of poetry and music.
