Programme Note
The chamber orchestra with Musical Director Roger Coull is returning to All Saints’ Church on Saturday 26th September at 7.30pm. Come to hear lively and interesting music from Britain and around Europe spanning nearly 300 years.
We have local player Cat Johnston as our soloist in Johann Neruda’s trumpet concerto, from the 18th Century, and the wind players feature in Ruth Gipps’ Seascape, which was written in the 20th Century, as was Malcolm Arnold’s Sinfonietta No 3 for chamber orchestra.
There are two works for strings alone; Grieg’s Two Elegiac Melodies and Beethoven’s Lento Assai, arranged by Bernstein from the string quartet Op 135, Beethoven’s last complete work.
We end the concert with Mozart’s Symphony No 33 is a light-hearted, youthful work written shortly after his return from a European tour in January 1779.
Tickets include programme - £15 for adults, free for children and students. Available from [email protected] 07954 085009 and on the door.
Weekend ticket offer £12 - only booking on 12th and 13th September.
