Wagner Society Study Day - Staging Wagner

Add to my Calendar 02-03-2019 10:00 02-03-2019 12:00 36 Wagner Society Manchester Study Day - "Staging Wagner" by Anthony Ogus  Saturday March 2     10am – c.3pm.  The study day on "Staging Wagner" will comprise two sessions in the morning and one in the afternoon. In the first, Anthony Ogus will give a talk on the evolution of Wagner production styles. In the second and third sessions, he will introduce video extracts from some notable Wagner productions.  A nominated discussant will then comment on the extracts, leading into a general discussion of them. Anthony Ogus is a retired academic lawyer and an Emeritus Professor at the Universities of Manchester and Rotterdam. He was awarded the CBE in 2002 and, in 2007, elected a Fellow of the British Academy. In 2013 he published a book on opera-going, Travels with my Opera Glasses, and he now writes a monthly article in the Opera Now magazine Study Day details: Location: Anthony Burgess Centre                  3 Cambridge St                   M1 5BY Ample car parking ( charges apply) opposite.
