A treat for lovers of the classical guitar.
Our concert takes you on a journey from the Renaissance era with John Download's intricate Fantasy for lute, and then forward through time to the Classical period with Mauro Giuliani's Sonata Op. 15 for guitar. JohannSebastian Bach's timeless Prelude for keyboard will showcase the beauty and complexity of Baroque music. This exciting concert then explores the sounds of the 20th and 21st centuries with works a beautifully mournful piano piece from Maurice Ravel reimagined for the piano, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco invoking the paintings of Spanish painter Fransisco Goya, Litha Efthymioua, and Gianfranco Morittu.
Renata Arlotti began studying classical guitar in her hometown, Sassari, and then continued in Milan under the guidance of the famous soloist Lorenzo Micheli.
Her debut album Suites and Homages (2018), published by the Stradivarious record company and dedicated to the music of Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco and Vicente Asencio, recieved enthusiastic reviews from audiences and critics, for the magazines "Musica" (Disc of the month), "IIFronimo", "Seicorde", "Amadeus", "American Record Guide", "DotGuitar, "GendaiGuitar" and many others.
