Programme Note

The concert includes the skills of local talent: Matthew Franklin, from Haslington near Crewe, will be playing the Albinoni Oboe Concert Op.9 No.2 transcribed for soprano saxophone, and Edward Doody, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, will be conducting his own composition, Forest Dances for Wind Dectet.

The programme includes Symphony No.3 in G minor by the French composer and professor of piano, Louise Farrenc (1804-1875).
