Programme Note
Join us at Cadogan Hall for a special gala concert celebrating the 90th anniversary of Sergey Prokofiev’s much-loved Peter and the Wolf, with actor Hugh Bonneville as narrator.
The evening brings together orchestral music, storytelling and live performance, with Gabriel Prokofiev, grandson of Sergei Prokofiev, conducting Peter and the Wolf. The programme also features the London Musici, conducted by Mark Stephenson, baritone Patrick Dow, and musicians from Brass for Africa.
The programme includes Prokofiev’s Classical Symphony, music by Guy Barker MBE and Alan Fernie, popular arias and songs, and the evening’s centrepiece, Peter and the Wolf.
Most importantly, all profits from the concert support Brass for Africa, the charity using music education and performance to transform the lives of young people in Uganda, Rwanda and Liberia.
