Programme Note

Be transported to France this spring with a celebration of French choral music with Dundee Choral Union.
The programme will feature Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem, a beautifully serene work, with music combining rich, romantic harmonies with the world of medieval plainsong. It will be preceded by Fauré’s rarely-heard cantata La Naissance de Vénus (The Birth of Venus), one of his own favourites, and his well-known Cantique de Jean Racine.
The vocal soloists include two of Scottish Opera’s current Emerging Artists - mezzo Chloe Harris and baritone Daniel Barrett.
