Programme Note
The concert programme pairs Mozart’s Requiem in D minor (K.626), composed in the lead up to his death in 1791, with the Litaniae Lauretanae (K.109) of 1771 which Mozart composed, with precocious talent, at the age of 15.
Furthermore, the concert offers the chance to hear the much sought after organist Martin Baker play Poulenc’s Organ Concerto. As well as playing frequent solo concerts in the UK and around the world, Martin Baker is also Master of Music at Westminster Cathedral.
