Programme Note

This classical music concert conducted by David Chatwin features Katherine Lacy, Principal Clarinet with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in a performance of Mozart's Clarinet Concerto which was composed shortly before his death. You will also hear Mussorgsky's Pictures at an exhibition which was composed following an exhibition of paintings (organised by Mussorgsky) by his friend Viktor Hartmann who had died the preceding year. The concert opens with Rachmaninov's Isle of the Dead inspired by Arnold Boeckin's painting. Come and celebrate life with us..
