Beethoven’s famous choral setting of Friedrich Schiller’s “Ode to Joy”, in the symphony’s last movement, is one of the best-known and instantly recognisable melodies ever composed, espousing a message of ultimate and joyous hope for all mankind.   At its premiere performance, Beethoven had to be turned round to face the audience so he could see their wildly enthusiastic and appreciative applause.  And to this day, 200 years on, the 9th symphony has since remained an enduringly popular and frequently performed work. Don’t miss the opportunity to come and experience the immense power of this euphoric and uplifting piece!  Tickets are selling fast, so book now to secure your place for this exciting special event.
