This time, they're visiting 17th-century Northern Italy which was the birthplace of opera. The Este court in Ferrara was the home of the first-ever all-female ensemble of professional musicans, the "Concerto delle donne", whose fame and virtuousity inspired the repertoire that their programme draws on - this includes works by Monteverdi, Frescobaldi, Rossi, Cavalli and Strozzi. Their team of three sopranos (Maria Danishvar, Philippa Neaverson and Jane Hunt) together with Din Ghani with his archlute and baroque guitar are looking forward to sharing this glorious music with you.
