Programme Note

Music for a summer's evening at the Didsbury Arts Festival by one of Manchester's leading chamber choirs and featuring an exquisite and eclectic selection of songs.

The program includes 'My Heart's Friend', and 'Come Back' by Bob Chilcott; a selection of Scandinavian songs - Jussi Chydenius's 'Deep in the Night , two catchy Swedish numbers - 'Hold me Fast' and 'Coffee Time' plus 'Unicornus Captivatur' by Norwegian Ole Gjeilo

In complete contrast there are two Russian Orthodox songs (one by Rachmaninov) and Morten Lauridsen's 'O Magnum Mysterium' plus a pair of his beautiful songs from his settings of Rilke's 'Les Chansons des Roses' . And more...
