It offers a snapshot of Mead's wide-ranging repertoire. Mead, renowned amongst other things for being the founder of the British Contemporary Piano Competition, and giving the UK premiere of George Crumb's 'Makrokosmos' at the Southbank, continues to champion contemporary music in live performance. In this concert he presents works by composers he has been associated with for many years, including Simon Emmerson; Edward Cowie, whose 24 Preludes he recently recorded; Lisa Reim, Tim Raymond and Richard Blackford.
