Having picked up our tour guides for the evening; Bob Chilcott, Edward Elgar, Charles V Stanford, we will depart St James the Greater at 7pm on Saturday 14th June and head south-east, tracking down the world of Aesop’s Fables, in ancient Greece, as re-imagined by Bob Chilcott. We’ll then double back and take in the wonders of Elgar’s Bavarian Highlands. Then on, we have Dances of Time (Chilcott) which will pirouette us to the deck of a liner. Baritone Andrew Ashwin will ensure us a safe return home with Stanford’s Songs of the Fleet as we “Sail Away” through to the time we say “Fare Well.” What a journey full of delight, and with the bonus of not having to pack, queue at the airport, get sunburnt…….and you’ll leave with a suitcase of song.
