Programme Note
As Matthew Berry takes a sabbatical in the summer term, Commotio is delighted to welcome Bob Chilcott to direct a programme that includes William Albright's seminal Chichester Mass, Jan Sandström's energising, yoik-inspired Biegga luothe alongside works by Górecki and MacMillan among others. All the works use thematic material from elsewhere, be it a plainsong, a traditional song, or a yoik!
Bob has been Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Singers since 2002 and works with thousands of singers around the world every year. Commotio is delighted to have this opportunity to work with a conductor and singer of such vast experience and enterprise.
