Programme Note
A kaleidoscope of dazzling choral music is coming your way in July!
Pinsuti are singing a wonderful range of their particular brand of a cappella music, ranging from Vaughan Williams’ tuneful celebration of Shakespeare, the stirring “Nunc Dimittis” by Holst and modern classics including three of Lauridsen’s impassioned Italian Madrigals and Paul Mealor’s "A Spotless Rose", to lighter favourites such as "I got rhythm", "Blue Moon", and "Over the rainbow".
The programme also includes the distinctive “Magnificat” by Pärt, and Elgar’s enchanting part songs, "My love dwelt in a Northern land" and "There is sweet music" – the latter a most unusual piece, in which the lower parts are in a different key to the upper parts. It sounds surprisingly good!
Pinsuti’s intimate style is ideally suited to a church like Fewston’s and we are delighted to have been invited to sing here once more.
