Programme Note
Welcoming the early morning with Rossini Villagers’ Chorus we’ll gradually make our way to nightfall, with Handel, Hansel & Gretel and Hernando’s Hideaway – making ample time for love, courtesy of Gershwin, Donizetti, Bizet and Mozart. Verdi’s Anvil Chorus brings us a colourful bit of hard graft before some well earned Comedy Tonight from Sondheim.
We are thrilled to be joined by two wonderful soloists for this glorious mixture of arias, duets and choruses from opera and musical theatre.
Anita has delighted audiences in solo roles at Covent Garden, ENO and Teatro La Fenice in Venice amongst many other starry venues. We are thrilled to welcome her back following her sumptuous performance for us in our Viennese concert in 2023.
Maddie’s diverse solo career embraces Australia and the UK and in recent years she has become a firm friend of Valentine Singers, entrancing our audiences in repertoire from Vivaldi, Martines and Beethoven to Tango! We are so very pleased to welcome her back once again.
