Part of the University of Leeds International Concert Series Spring - 2024
Add to my Calendar 16-02-2024 13:05 16-02-2024 15:05 36 Ben Goldscheider & Richard Uttley Ben and Richard have given recitals together at prestigious halls around the world, including Wigmore Hall, Elbphilharmonie (Hamburg), Musikverein (Vienna), BOZAR (Brussels), Gulbenkian Foundation (Lisbon), National Centre for Performing Arts (Mumbai), and Lucerne Festival. Their programme opens with the witty interplay of Beethoven's early Horn Sonata, and ends with the opulent exuberance of York Bowen's Horn Sonata, in which we hear clearly why he was dubbed 'the English Rachmaninoff'. The centrepiece of the recital is a substantial new work by Richard, written for Ben and himself in 2022, which pushes the two players to the limits of lyricism and virtuosity.
