Musicke in the Ayre

Programme Note

Local soprano Carmel Edwards and Din bring a much extended version of their Anglo-French programme (last given as a lunchtime recital at St Brides Fleet Street in March) to Wirksworth - joined by local singer/songwriter Carol Fieldhouse. As well as the popular English lute ayres and the classic French airs de cour, the programme includes some early airs de cour, as well as extending later into the English repertoire of the Cavalier and Restoration periods.
