The librettist is Daniel F. Aitken Dring’s only opera, ‘Cupboard Love’ is a witty and vibrant work, full of jazz harmonies and modern romantic lyricism. Written in the 1950’s, it was never performed during her lifetime and was only heard in public for the first time at a read through in London in 1983.
