Programme Note
The Carducci Quartet were awarded a Royal Philharmonic Society Award in 2016 for their project Shostakovich15, an immense cycle of Shostakovich's quartets performed across the UK, North and South America. They present the first quartet for their return to Conway Hall, flanked by two much-loved classics of the repertoire: Mozart's 'Hunt', dedicated to Haydn, and Dvořák's 'American', written in 1893 during the composer's time in the United States.

About the Sunday Concerts
Founded in the 1880s, our chamber music concert series is the longest-running of its kind in Europe. Conway Hall was purpose-built in 1929 to host concerts and lectures, and they have continued here until the present day. The ethos of “affordable classical music for all” still remains.
