Ranging from Franz Schubert and Robert Schumann to Sally Beamish and Tansy Davies, from William Wordsworth to Mary Oliver, the selection seeks to explore and examine our relationship with nature and to ask questions about how and why we have so often caused damage and destruction. The programme is thought-provoking and stimulating, aware that in order to care for and protect our environment we first of all need to humbly appreciate and cherish it. “Padmore was a dozen different singers in one.
