Featuring rousing choruses for massed double choir and some of his most intricate solo writing, the piece is a real tour-de-force of Mozartian splendour. It is likely that his wife Constanze was the first person to sing the lovely soprano arias and the piece is often believed to be a love-offering to her. The programme is rounded off with Haydn’s stirring anthem, Insanae et Vanae Curae and Mozart’s ‘Linz’ Symphony. Join the North Herts Guild of Singers, a quartet of fantastic young soloists and the Beaufoy Sinfonia formed of the top graduates from the London conservatoires for an unforgettable evening of Viennese splendour.
