BSO are delighted to welcome Viviane Plekhotkine to perform Tchaikovsky's violin concerto with us.

Born in 2000, Viviane started playing the violin in St. Petersburg, Russia. In 2013 she successfully auditioned for the Yehudi Menuhin School in England and studied there with professor Lutsia Ibragimova.

In September 2020, Viviane started her undergraduate studies at the Royal College of Music London where she is a scholar of the Sergei Kojine Scholarship. Some of her awards include the grand prize of the CUIM 2020 Festival as well the Performer prize at the Royal College of Music Contemporary Competition. Viviane regularly freelances with Camerata Nordica in Sweden, the ENO, Oxford Philharmonic, Covent Garden Sinfonia, Picadilly Sinfonietta, as well as guest leader of the London City Philharmonic. She has performed in different venues across the UK and abroad such as the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall and Cadogan Hall amongst others.

She is studying under the guidance of professor Radu Blidar and plays on a 1700 M. Goffriller violin, kindly loaned to her by the Royal College of Music.
