On Friday 12th November 2021 at 7:30pm, in the heart of Derby, the walls of the Cathedral will resound to the music of Beethoven, Chopin, Gershwin and Liszt played by British concert pianist, Warren Mailley-Smith, under the warm flicker of candlelight.

This evening's concert promises to take the listener on a spell-binding journey of moods and emotions. Audiences will be treated to a programme full of poetry and virtuosic display, from Debussy's Clair de Lune, to Liszt's Rigoletto Paraphrase in addition to a number of celebrated works by Chopin. The evening concludes with Gershwin's ever-popular Rhapsody in Blue, with its powerful melodies, driving rhythms and glittering piano writing in this compelling kaleidoscope of jazz and classical influences.
