The beautiful strains of male voices soaring above a piano duet in the heart-rending tale of the Coventry Carol...Brass and percussion delivering Merry Men in a Cuban cha-cha, and the opportunity to exercise your vocal chords and sway along to magical , indulgent melodies...and there's more!  Formed in 1917, during the First World War, Grimethorpe Colliery Band is a British institution. National and British Open Champions on numerous occasions, the band’s contest successes remain legendary. These include 16 Brass In Concert Championship titles, 11 times Yorkshire Regional Champions, two English National Championship victories, four times British Open Champions and four times National Champion Brass Band of Great Britain.Since its inception in 1934, the Skelmanthorpe Male Voice Choir has been a cornerstone of musical excellence and community spirit in Huddersfield and beyond. Our journey is not just about music; it’s about fostering a love for the arts, supporting charitable causes, and enhancing the cultural fabric of our community.
