Experience a medieval style Candlemas at Ely Cathedral with over 5000 candles illuminating the interior of this magnificent building. The Cathedral's mighty organ will play music by Bach, Dubois and Gawthorpe. The Cathedral choir will sing works of sacred choral music by Dove, Dupré, Holst, Lassus, Pisaro, Tallis, Whitacre and Wood as well as the World Premiere of a new composition by David Bednall. Introduction by Dominican Friar and former Master of the Order of Preachers, Fr Timothy Radcliffe O.P. This event takes place in the Choir and Presbytery therefore the seating in this area is 'collegiate style' (seats on the south side face north and the north seats face south). Other seating areas are available.
