Programme Note
Under the musical direction of conductor Ben Wolf, this inspiring programme pairs one of
Joseph Haydn’s most dramatic and celebrated masses with Michael Haydn’s deeply moving Requiem—a work believed to have influenced Mozart's own Requiem.
The Royal Free Music Society Choir is a well-known and long-standing Camden choir based within the Royal Free Hospital and it has developed a reputation for its commitment to bringing high-quality choral music to audiences particularly in Camden and Hampstead.
Drawing members from diverse backgrounds and levels of musical experience, the choir presents a wide range of repertoire, from baroque masterpieces to contemporary works.
The choir is keen to attract new singers, particularly in the Tenor and Bass sections, and offers a 50% discount on subs for new members. A concessionary rate is also available.
We also welcome new Patrons who for a relatively modest donation will receive free entry to all concerts and will be acknowledged in the concert programmes.
