Programme Note

Enfield Chamber Orchestra is proud to announce that Danilo Della Cruz will be the cello soloist in Fauré’s Élégie in their concert on 11th March.   Danilo was the winner of the Enfield Young Musicians’ Concerto audition, sponsored by the Enfield Music Service, and the judges of this competition were bowled over by stunning musicality of this 16 year old, who gained a distinction for his Grade 8 in November, having only started to learn the cello 3½ years ago.

The concert will also feature a concerto for two mandolins by Vivaldi, transcribed for two guitars.  Our guitar soloists will be Warren Alexander and Andrew Scott

The concert also includes a rarely heard early Schubert overture and Glazunov’s charming Serenade No.2 for small orchestra.  The concert will conclude with Mozart’s 40th Symphony, which will provide an opportunity for GCSE Music students to hear a live performance one of their set works.
