You can both listen to and learn about the beautiful music of Mozart in this great evening at the Ferneham Hall. Maestro Robin Browning demystifies the famous Clarinet Concerto, gets to the point of the Overture to the opera ‘Mitridate’ and takes you on a tour of the Symphony no. 36, named after the Austrian city of Linz!
All will be performed by Robin and the superb local musicians of the Havant Chamber Orchestra, with solo clarinet played by Portsmouth-based virtuoso, Robert Blanken.
Mozart’s Austrian friend and mentor, Joseph Haydn, also gets a moment in the spotlight as Robin and the Orchestra explore the overture to his comic opera ‘L’Incontro Improvviso’ – The Unexpected Encounter!
Arrive at 6.30 pm to hear Robin and Robert in conversation and ask them those burning questions (free with a concert ticket). Have a drink in the bar and listen to some young musicians perform; then at 7.30 pm sit back and enjoy Robin’s introductions and the music itself. We look forward to seeing you there!
