Programme Note

Well known Tarland fiddler Paul Anderson will be joining Grampian Concert Orchestra in Aberdeen for one night only. The orchestra, under conductor Tim Tricker will be featuring the second-ever orchestral performance of Paul’s very own “Hielan’ Symphony” this Sunday 25th September, as part of its “Celebration of Scotland” concert at Ferryhill Parish Church, Aberdeen. Doors open at 7pm, starting at 7:30pm.
The Symphony depicts through music the centuries-old tradition of cattle-droving through the North East of Scotland and features Paul on solo violin.
The programme for this late summer concert also features other works featuring famous Scots tunes or inspired by the scenery, including “Scottish Rhapsody” by Ronald Binge, Dvorak’s “Scottish Dance” and Mendelssohn’s “Scottish” Symphony no. 3 in A minor.
