Add to my Calendar 27-06-2017 20:00 27-06-2017 22:00 36 PLAYLIST @ Flying Aubergine The 2017-2018, Arts Council supported, PLAYLIST season returns on Tuesday 27th June at the Flying Aubergine (the cafe in the pavilion in East Park, Cental Southampton) for an evening of fantastic solo sets from Dan Mar-Molinero (saxophone), Katie Bennington (oboe) and Simon de Souza (french horn). Dan Mar-Molinero (saxophone) has led and played in numerous ensembles, performing at many top venues and festivals in the UK and abroad. He has extensive experience of live and studio playing in both jazz and commercial music and has performed with many leading musicians from across genres including Julian Joseph, Kenny Wheeler and Corrine Bailey-Rae. He will be presenting a set of brand new material commissioned by PLAYLIST. Katie Bennington (oboe) enjoys a varied freelance career playing regularly with orchestras around the country such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Aurora Orchestra, ENO, ENB, and CBSO. She is also a keen chamber musician and enjoys working in collaboration with artists from different genres. Her beautiful playing of Benjamin Britten's Six Metamorphoses after Ovid is not to be missed. Simon de Souza (french horn) has a busy schedule as a freelance performer with orchestras such as the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, BBCNOW and Bolshoi Ballet, West End and touring shows, chamber music and recitals. He has a major commitment to the brass quintet Chaconne Brass, with whom he is frequently heard on radio and TV and has made four recordings. Expect the unexpected!
