Programme Note
Fortismere Community Choir is inviting everyone and anyone to come and enjoy a day of singing together this summer - whether you used to sing and can't seem to find the time any more, or have always wanted to join a choir but never taken the first step. There is no need to be able to read music, or be familiar with the pieces in advance - join in with us for one, two or all three days and feel the magic of communal singing!
We are running three workshops this summer, and our first one is this Sunday, 26th May at Fortismere Music Centre, Fortismere School in Muswell Hill N10. We will be singing some choruses from Haydn's The Creation, to include some or all of:
No.13 The Heavens are Telling
No.18 The Lord is Great
No.10 Awake the Harp
No.25a Achieved is the Glorious Work
No.27 By Thee with Bliss
Our Musical Director Cathal Garvey says: "The Creation choruses are really joyous, and I've chosen a mixture of easier and harder ones, so that there's something for all levels of experience. The focus will be on enjoyment and as well as looking at the Haydn choruses, there will be fun exercises to develop singing technique."
