Programme

Varioussongs of motherhood and childhood from around the globe

Performers

Maggie Cooper – soprano
Laetitia Fédérici – piano

Programme Note

Inspired by the Foundling Hospital’s stories of women and children, soprano Maggie Cooper and pianist Laetitia Fédérici explore songs of motherhood and childhood from around the globe. The chosen songs beautifully illustrate the force of motherly love, as well as the resilience and humour of children. Enjoy Bernstein’s I Hate Music and Poulenc’s wittily surreal La Courte Paille along with works by Schumann and Britten plus lullabies from Spain and Russia.
