Programme Note

Devon Baroque Orchestra begins its 2026 season with a concert programme full of well- loved and scintillating pieces.  Titled ‘Spotlight on Strings’ the concert at 3pm in Dartington Great Hall on Sunday 8th March will feature Persephone Gibbs and Sharon Lindo as violin soloists in J S Bach’s beautiful and enthralling Double Concerto for 2 violins.  Persephone will also perform Bach’s Violin Concerto in A minor and feature in Vivaldi’s Concerto for Violin and Cello.

Other pieces in the programme include the delightful ‘Delirium Amoris’ for string orchestra by Muffat, Vivaldi’s Concerto for four violins and strings and it will end with the delightful Handel Concerto Grosso Op 6 no 7. 

As the snowdrops break through the earth in the borders of Dartington, come and listen to what will prove to be a feast for the senses performed by the only professional baroque orchestra in the South West peninsula.  Tickets available from Dartington Box Office: www.dartington.org/whats-on, and cost £24 and £10 students/under 18’s.
