Programme Note
This is a wonderful opportunity to take part locally in one of the greatest pieces of the choral repertoire, Handel’s Messiah, with a massed choir, professional direction, soloists and orchestra. No travel to London, no rehearsals, just turn up and sing!
A unique event for Farnham – no-one has ever tried a performance on this scale in recent memory – and we are grateful for the support given by Farnham Town Council.
Booking discount opportunities are available to local choral societies, schools, church choirs, or any group of singers that would like to join in. You can obtain a ‘buy 10 pay for 9’ discount automatically on the Ticketsource website www.ticketsource.co.uk/waverleysingers but Waverley Singers are very happy to help you through the block booking process – just email messiah2017@waverleysingers.com for more information.
Audience accommodation is limited – we’re giving priority to singers! Public audience tickets will go on sale in July.
Doors open at 5:15p.m., starts at 6:00pm
22/08: Change of soloist:
Tom Scott-Cowell, countertenor is unable to take part in our performance. we are delighted to announce that his place will taken by Hannah Poulsom (alto), who has performed with us at several concerts including Bach's St John Passion and Haydn's Nelson Mass.
