Tchaikovsky’s ‘Rococo’ Variations will feature Hannah Roberts as soloist - widely recognised as one of the outstanding ‘cellists of her generation - in this virtuosic work which showcases Tchaikovsky’s admiration for Mozart and the wider classical style. Opening with Dvorák’s Czech Suite, full of melodic invention and lively folk rhythms, the concert concludes with Brahms’s 2nd symphony – a work full of emotional depth and pastoral imagery.
