We welcome back ESO’s friend and internationally renowned cellist Raphael Wallfisch to perform Tchaikovsky’s ‘Rococo’ Variations – a stunning and virtuosic work which showcases Tchaikovsky’s admiration for Mozart and the wider classical style. Opening with Dvořák’s Czech Suite, full of melodic invention and lively folk rhythms, the concert concludes with Brahms’ 2nd symphony – a work full of emotional depth and pastoral imagery.
