Programme Note
The 20th century was a golden age for English song, with a large group of composers, from Britten to Vaughan Williams, from Bridge to Warlock writing masterpieces in the form. This recital explores some of this wealth of music, with some songs you may know and love and others which may be new to you. A full programme will be announced in due course. Bass Jozik Kotz is a hugely experienced concert and opera singer, a finalist in the Kathleen Ferrier, Royal Overseas League and Richard Tauber competitions, and winner of the South East Arts competition, which led to his Wigmore Hall debut. He is partnered by pianist Colin Hughes, who has been involved with many local music groups. Jozik is musical director for Hailsham Choral Society and a director of Music Box Wealden.
