As experts in historical performance, we can give unique expression to these works.   Music by women composers is only now being recognised as equal in quality to works of men. Well-to-do women had to stay at home, get married and be concerned about their reputation, believed to be besmirched by performance, or publication.  Female performances were in the house, or private concert rooms of their day. So most early female published works tended to be for voice, with or without fortepiano, with a few forays into larger scale works.
